2018 IPMEN Conference

This is the home of the 2018 biennial conference of International Pacific Marine Education Network, IPMEN. Welcome to join and connect with marine educators from all over the world! The 2018 IPMEN will be held at National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung, Taiwan, from Oct 1 to 5, 2018. This time, Taiwan Marine Education Center administers a scholarship program for presenters to apply. For further information, please keep following us on this website and our facebook page as well.

The aim of IPMEN is to share and learn new developments in marine education with international partners. IPMEN was set to enhance the international network of marine educators. It has cultivated an organic relationship—in which we grow together—with the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA) in the USA, the Australian Association for Environmental Education (AAEE) and the European Marine Science Education Association (EMSEA). Shared among these continents is exactly the Pacific.

This year, the 2018 IPMEN conference will focus on how to encourage collaboration and cooperation between governments, policy makers, stakeholders, scientists, educators and the public as well, as far as marine education is concerned. Just like a computer system, its performance depends upon the combination and coordination of various components. Thus, the conference theme of the 2018 IPMEN is Co-constructing the Development System for Marine Education. The conference topic includes, but not limits to:

1. Building the Framework for Promoting Marine Education
2. Enhancing the Informal Marine Education
3. Inspiring Cross-disciplinary Educators to Engage in Marine Education
4. The Role and Use of Marine Protected Area for Education
5. Professional Development for Marine Educators
6. Other Issues related to Marine Education
