The Taiwan Marine Education Center, in collaboration with PODO ART, produced the mini book Ocean Day in Taiwan. Centered on the theme of “The Interaction Between People and the Ocean,” the book blends a touch of fantasy with an educational spirit, inviting readers of all ages to explore the imaginative world of the Four Islands of the Ocean Village.
Each island symbolizes children’s imagination, experiences, and emotional connections with the sea, encouraging students to reflect on the role and meaning of the ocean in their daily lives. In addition to introducing the development of Ocean Day in Taiwan, the book conveys the original intention of this celebration—to remind us to stay attentive to nature and be inspired by our environment.
The overall design adopts a multidirectional layout that can be folded into a portable booklet, balancing visual aesthetics with practical functionality.
