2025 Taiwan–Japan High School Marine Education Exchange Exhibition

Project Assistant:CHANG, YAN-LING

Ohe Taiwan Marine Education Center (TMEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Wakasa High School in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, in 2022, with the aim of fostering deeper collaboration in marine education between Taiwan and Japan. Following the successful poster exchange exhibition in 2024, TMEC once again co-hosted a marine education achievement exchange in 2025, in collaboration with the Graduate Institute of Education and the Center for Teacher Education at National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU).

On March 7, faculty and students from Wakasa High School visited NTOU and engaged in a joint exchange event with nearly 70 participants, including students and teachers from Nuannuan Senior High School, Anle High School, and National Keelung Senior High School. The event featured expert feedback from Director Tseng Sheng-Wen (Bachelor Program in Marine Creative Design and Industry, NTOU), Associate Professor Tsai Liang-Ting (Graduate Institute of Education and Center for Teacher Education, NTOU), and Dr. Takuji Matsuoka (Graduate School of Agriculture, Kagoshima University, Japan).

The exchange was marked by enthusiastic participation. Students from both Taiwan and Japan delivered oral presentations in English, addressing topics related to global marine sustainability and local ecological conservation. Experts commended the depth and quality of the students’ research. This event not only strengthened Taiwan–Japan educational ties but also enhanced student awareness and engagement with marine issues.
