Main Celebration Activities for the 2018 World Oceans Day in Kaohsiung
1.Introduction
In response to the UN World Oceans Day’s idea of cherishing the ocean and to raise public awareness of cherishing it, this administration has since 2008 organized promotional activities related to the World Oceans Day.

3.Activities
A. Date and time: June 9, 2018 (Saturday), 10:00 – 16:00
B. Venue: Kaohsiung Xin Bin Pier
C. Exhibition area planning: the display area for marine theme booths is divided into four main thematic dimensions, namely, “marine safety,” “marine conservation,” “marine industries,” and “marine scientific research.” It is a joint effort of all organizations and groups involved in work concerning the oceans so as to manifest the diversities and rich contents of the ocean.

6. Drafting of Activities
Participated in the activities of the “2018 World Oceans Day” organized by the Coast Guard Administration of the Ocean Affairs Council: implemented educational promotional activities on June 9, 2018 in Xin Bin Pier, and carried out the following activities in coordination with the main activity theme.

(4)Marine flip-flip bingo (knowing marine life)
(5)Marine Pairing Fun (knowledge quiz)

7. Results of running the activities
On June 9, 2018, the Center participated in the activities of the “2018 World Oceans Day,” organized by the Coast Guard Administration of the Ocean Affairs Council, to carry out educational promotional activities. It was estimated that 1100 people visited our booth.
